Mississippi Highway Patrol End of Watch December 27, 1999 Vehicle Crash Trooper Denham was 29 years old when he was killed in a single vehicle accident while returning from working the scene a fatal accident. Trooper Denham was travelling north on Mississippi Route 603, in Bay St. Louis, when he lost control of his cruiser, which flipped over several times and landed upside down in a ditch. Some witnesses reported that another vehicle cut off his cruiser, causing him to lose control. Trooper Denham had been in law enforcement for ten years and is survived by his wife and two children.

Officer Robert Langley
University of Mississippi Police Department End of Watch October 21, 2006 Vehicular Assault Officer Robert Langley was fatally injured when he was dragged by the driver of a vehicle during a traffic stop near the university campus in Oxford, Mississippi. As Officer Langley was speaking to the driver, a university student whom he had stopped for speeding, the driver suddenly sped off, dragging Officer Langley approximately 200 yards. Officer Langley was flown to the Memphis Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Langley was 30 years old. The suspect was apprehended at his residence by members of the Oxford Police Department a short time after the incident and charged with capital murder of a police officer. In 2007 the suspect plead guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Officer Langley was a member of the Mississippi National Guard and was a veteran of the War on Terrorism. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two stepdaughters.

Oxford Police Department Began his walk with God January 3, 2008 Natural Causes George Albert (G.A.) Liles, 66, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Columbus. He was a retired major with the Oxford Police Department. He graduated from the F.B.I. Academy in 1973 and formerly served as a staff sergeant in the National Guard, where he was on active duty for two years. He was an active member of North Oxford Baptist Church. He was president of the Tri Lakes Western Horse Show Association and a director of the Mississippi State Horse Show Association.

Gulfport Police Department End of Watch August 14, 2008 Motorcycle Crash Lieutenant Robert Curry was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 49 in Orange Grove. The driver of another vehicle turned in front of his department motorcycle, causing the collision. Lieutenant Curry had served with the Gulfport Police Department for 14 years. He is survived by his wife and two small children. His wife also serves as a lieutenant with the agency. At the time of his death, He was serving as the President of S.T.O.R.M.
