Biloxi Police Department

Jesse Calvert here and I am honored to have been given the privilege of serving as your Southern Regional Vice President for 2019-2020. I have been employed with the City of Biloxi Police Department as a patrol Officer since 2002. I began working on the DUI Enforcement Unit in 2015. I completed Standardized Field Sobriety Training (SFST) and Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) in 2015. In 2018 I completed Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor School and later completed the IACP Drug Evaluation and Classification Program becoming a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) in 2019. I feel that Storm has been very beneficial in helping me develop and pursue a passion for DUI enforcement and further assist with continued education and training regarding this specialized assignment.

What is the value of a human life to us? If we can save one life through our proactive DUI enforcement how valuable does that make our mission? The future for the State of Mississippi concerning DUI deterrence and prevention of loss of life rests within each of us as members of this organization. We are the ones who have not only the job and duty but the responsibility to save as many lives as possible on a daily/nightly basis. The true number of lives saved by our actions can only be revealed in eternity.

I encourage each of you to keep pursuing after this mission of deterrence and prevention with integrity and stamina knowing that you are making a difference. The number of rewards received, the number of accolades given by your peers, administrations, and even citizens pale in comparison to the value you add to your own life by knowing that each night/day when you lay your head on the pillow you have made a positive impact on humanity. I truly believe God smiles on each of us who strive to make a positive impact on our world around us each day and I pray He keeps you safe and brings peace to your minds as you continue our mission in STORM.
Sincerely Jesse Calvert Southern Regional Vice President Storm

My name is Dean Anderson and I was born on June 23, 1970. I live in Vicksburg, MS. I'm currently employed with Shiers Communications for 20 plus years. I was a volunteer for MADD Mothers Against Drunk Driving going for over 7 years. MADD's Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving? has the goal of protecting our families from drunk driving and ultimately ending the threat of drunk driving on American roads by:
• Support the heroes who keep our roads safe. High-visibility law enforcement catches drunk drivers and discourages others from driving drunk.
• Require convicted drunk drivers to blow before they go. Ignition interlock devices, or in-car breathalyzers, require all convicted drunk drivers to prove they are sober before the car will start.
• Turn cars into the cure. Tomorrow's cars will protect each of us, automatically determining whether or not the driver is at or above the legal limit of .08 and failing to operate if the driver is impaired.
